I will be speaking at the upcoming Rich Web Experience conferences in Washington D.C. and San Jose and at the Ajax Experience in Boston on several topics that may be of interest to Comet developers:

• JSON SOA-Based Client/Server Application Development - This session will cover various open protocols that can be used as a basis for service oriented web architecture including Comet protocols Bayeux and HTTP/REST Channels, and how to use these in Dojo.
• Applied JSON: HTTP REST, Ajax databases and beyond - This session will cover using REST storage/database servers, and will cover and demonstrate using Persevere’s RESTful data notification Comet capabilities.
• I will be giving two additional topics at the Rich Web Experience that are less Comet-related but should still be interesting for general Ajax development: Secure Mashups and Persistent Computing on the Web.
