Caplin, MochiWeb, and Android
by Dylan SchiemannNovember 14th, 2007Since launching Comet Daily a little over a week ago, a few companies and projects of interest to Comet developers have been brought to our attention:
- Caplin - a London based commercial software company focused on the finance sector. They have been working on Comet and push techniques for 10 years! After using various applet-based solutions initially, Caplin has migrated everything to JavaScript on the client-side
- MochiWeb - a new Erlang HTTP toolkit by the people that brought us MochiBot. Erlang is on the verge of becoming the new Python, though I’m still fond of Haskell and HAppS, a web app server built in Haskell with support for Comet techniques and many other features.
- Android and Comet - Google’s new open framework for mobile devices looks promising for Comet developers
